Benefits of No free will

BENEFITS OF NO FREE WILL

BLAME REMOVAL

Thou shall not deeply, truly, fundamentally, or excessively blame. Thou shall understand that the word blame is a very superficial word. If you were another person, you would have the soul of that other person. You wouldn’t have the free will to decide to have the soul of someone else. Where is the free will? In a no free will world, you can still fear people (just like other wild animals you fear like a ferocious bear or shark), but you can no longer logically justify hating people (including yourself). Criminals, no matter how heinous their crimes, are just as fundamentally innocent as everyone else is. No one is going to hell. How can one be ultimately and finally judged when one’s will was not free to begin with? If, as a global society, we recognize the truth of determinism and reject the ludicrous notion of free will, it would no longer be fair or logical to blame ourselves or others. Instead, if we want to fix problems and help people, we need only seek the causes of those problems and then devise appropriate solutions. You don’t have to blame a flat tire to fix it. Not believing in free will yields many benefits. One of the main benefits is the relief immediately available to you by no longer blaming yourself for all the silly and stupid mistakes you made in your life.

MORE COMPASSION

Understanding that free will is an illusion is important, not only because it’s the truth, but because it’s needed for a significant shift in attitudes. Raising humanity’s conscious awareness of this fact, when done properly and in a way in which people truly understand the implications, can increase the compassion and empathy people have for others. Not only that, but it can also help people begin to heal the weight of guilt people may be carrying around as they understand that those past events for which they feel guilty about could not have happened in any other way.

LESS EGOISM

Belief in free will means never having to acknowledge your own great good fortune or recognize the far greater misfortune of others. It is the conceit of the belief in free will that today ensures and justifies that so many at the bottom are denied any chance of social and economic equality
